dc.description.abstractA computer simulation of power train components of an Electric Vehicle or Hybrid Electric Vehicle is required as an analysis tool for engineers in automotive industry. Two components, motor controller and AC induction motor, are investigated in detail because of the importance in the analysis and design. Detail analysis of the equations that are used in the models are provided and methods for characterizing the models for different systems components are described. Commercial dynamic simulation software (SIMULINK) is utilized, which has a graphical environment based on nonlinear state block diagrams.
