Abstract
Discusses the development of the implied warranties of habitability and good workmanship in the sale of new houses. The author impressed the importance of contemporary Texas Supreme Court opinions that emphasizes the application of the duty to read doctrine to standard-form contracts. “Texas buys had better beware,” the author warns, or at least seek the counsel of an attorney when conducting important transactions.
