Examines four Fifth Circuit cases affecting federal bankruptcy law. The authors concluded that the court’s opinion in In re CTS Truss, Inc. may signal an important change in the law regarding equitable subordination. On the other hand, the court refused to clarify various aspects of bankruptcy law in such cases as In re Booth and In re D & F Construction, Inc.
