The general purpose of this study was to gather basic ecological information on the physical edaphic mechanisms which appear to be operating in the distribution of mesquite. This information can contribute to a better understanding of plant distribution mechanisms, increase knowledge of the autecology of mesquite, and provide increased information for land management decisions in the area of brush control.
