dc.description.abstractThis thesis documentation summarizes the testing results of an ASIC chip designed for piezoelectric energy harvesting system. The practical results obtained after testing were compared with the simulation results. The RF energy harvesting system was designed to convert the RF energy available in the atmosphere into useful electrical energy which can be used to charge a battery of capacity 50 uAh. This battery requires a voltage in the range of 4- 4.2V to get itself charged. The system includes the design of rectifier circuit, DC-DC charge pump, Low dropout regulator (LDO) and a clock generator. All these components were designed using 0.6um complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology.
