dc.description.abstractTexas is best known for cattle, the contribution of the Angora goat and mohair industry to the state's agriculutral history has been overlooked. The 1950's proved to be a crucial decade for this important industry. During this time, natural diaster in the form of a seven year drought coupled with conficting governmental policies to alter the nature of the Texas mohair industry.
