Abstract

Analyzes a United States Supreme Court case holding that tenured public employees are due an opportunity to respond to charges against them prior to termination, even when the statute granting tenure also establishes procedures for termination, which do not include such a right. The article discusses the development of the right to a due process hearing when a property right is threatened, including what property is and what due process is due. The article then discusses the case and discusses possible effects.
