Abstract

The dissertation provides a comparative acute toxicity assessment of replacement chemicals and legacy chemicals, particularly per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and phthalic acid esters (PAEs), using early stages of zebrafish (Danio rerio). Several endpoints, such as survival, hatching success, morphological deformities, startle response behavior, uptake and elimination kinetics, as well as in silico and in vivo studies, were used to assess the comparative toxicity.
