Roosevelt. The author was able to examine a wealth of primary materials and gain a focus on the advisory process. The author noted interesting discrepancies between what Jackson apparently advised the president in private and what Jackson told others. These discrepancies led the author to consider the implications of advising one thing in private and something significantly different to others.engGeneral Robert H. JacksonFranklin D.
