Theory statement: The use of geometric terms and color to achieve the revitalization of the art deco movement in a modern tropical waterfront atmosphere. Theory paragraph: Addison Mizener’s adaptation of Mediterranean architecture eventually became Miami's historic oceanfront. The cruise ship terminal will be expressed in an art deco theme and placed in a modern setting. This will be achieved through the use of bright colors, textures and surface decoration. The proximity of the structure to the waterfront will further enhance its belonging as a landmark design. Context/Facility paragraph: site Iocation is the #201 berth at pert entry, on fifteen acres of property with exceptional views of both McLay and Hillsborough Lay's. The terminal will be a fully operational cruise ship station with such amenities as a restaurant, coffee bar, retail, and ticketing to Iocal Tampa bay attractions. Bus and Taxi services will be incorporated with the addition of a light rail system toeing a future possibility.
