Abstract

This article explores facilitated plagiarism, which is the commission of plagiarism by students purchasing and submitting papers obtained from term-paper mills. The article covers term-paper mill history and operations and then discusses efforts to control these companies. The article the gives an analysis of why legal efforts have failed to stop facilitated plagiarism. The article concludes with suggestions to prevent and deter academic dishonesty on college campuses.
