Abstract

Being a lawyer has become much harder than it used to be. Public hostility, lack of civility among colleagues, and stiffer competition have all served to make the practice of law more depressing and less fulfilling. But even if all of these problems were to disappear, the practice of law would still be incredibly difficult because lawyers face moral difficulties unlike any other profession or occupation. Professor Floyd investigates some of these difficulties.
