Abstract

Two experiments were conducted to obtain further information on dietary lipid modulation of immune function in metabolic stress conditions. In the first experiment, the objective was to modify dietary lipid composition of animal diets in order to evaluate plasma membrane changes and immunological parameters during sepsis. The second experiment was conducted to determine the effect of an essential fatty acid deficient diet on immunological response during postburn injury.
