Abstract
Reading by students with low vision is a complex process which has received very little emphasis. Research Indicates that appropriate instruction can enhance and improve the visual functioning of children with visual impairments; therefore, training in techniques focusing on efficient and improved reading, which Is a highly visual task, should also be beneficial for the student with low vision.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of an intervention program using repeated readings to increase reading fluency in elementary students with low vision. The method of repeated readings involves the rereading of a short text passage within each session until a predetermined criterion reading rate is achieved.
