Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were: a) to determine the effects of both animal and vegetable fats on nutrient digestibilities and nitrogen retention by in vivo procedures; b) to study the effects of supplemented fat levels on nitrogen metabolism and retention in growing ruminants; and c) to determine alterations in rumen fermentation as effected by levels of unesterified fatty acids.
