Architecture, as the built environment, has an affect on the human body e function, mood and perception, which Influences human behavior in a facility. The way people perceive their surroundings is through the basic senses: visual, eonlc, olfactory and tactile. These physical sensors stimulate people to have an emotion and behavioral reeponce. The architectural design has the capability of designing spaces to encourage different activities and emotions. The facility is intended to be inviting to gamblers from the surrounding context. Once they are inside, the material, colors, sounds, and size of the design will make it hard for them to leave. Environmental psychology can be a powerful tool In Influencing human perception, emotion and making a successful design. The project will be a casino nestled in the foothills of Black Hawk, Colorado with about 1,000 users. The effect of the surrounding is of great Importance. Included In the casino will be cafes, restaurants, childcare area, and non-qamln^ entertainment. Casino gambling was legalized in Colorado in the early 1990s. The passing of this law had a large Impact on many of the old gold mining towns. The old buildings, that once housed shops, are now casinos with the ordinal storefront facades and the interior transformed to a casino. This project's Intention is to build a new gambling facility, which will excite the outsider and enter- . tain the user.
