Abstract
Describes the United States Supreme Court’s case Allstate Ins. Co. v. Hague. In Hague, the widow of decedent Ralph Hague brought an uninsured motorist claim on the automobile policy they held that was issued by Allstate insurance in a Minnesota court. Despite the fact that the accident happened in Wisconsin and that all persons concerned were Wisconsin residents at the time of the accident. The issued contested was whether Minnesota was an applicable forum state for the action. The Court found that the parties sufficient aggregate contacts in Minnesota because the decedent worked in the state, the defendant did business in the state, and the executrix of the estate resided in the state at the time of litigation.
