Abstract
This comment provides the Texas practitioner who lacks extensive accounting or appraisal background a better understanding of the definition and methods of valuation recognized by Texas courts. The overview is not intended to eliminate the need for expert valuations, but should benefit the attorney in making valuations when expert testimony is not needed, in selecting and communicating with expert appraisers when such testimony is appropriate, in presenting valuations to the court, and in contesting adverse valuations.
