Institutions are required to establish strategic academic and operational goals. Institutional strategic plans should include measurable goals that address retention of African American male undergraduate students. Finally, as institutions expand their strategic focus to include diversity and inclusion curricular and co-curricular transformative practices for African American male students, the mission of the organization provides the example for a university’s function in response to an obligatory change.
