Abstract

The objective of this paper is to discuss the status and advances for application of one- or two-phase Mechanically Pumped Loop (MPLs) in scientific and commercial space cooling systems. It gives a general overview of the components available in Europe such as pumps (micro, mini, piezo, centrifugal, non-centrifugal), compressors , valves (active, passive) , accumulators (with bellows, 2 phase or flow through) , pressure transducers, heat exchangers and deployable/light weight radiators. Potential applications are discussed as well as guidelines for performance analysis and fluid selection.
