An equestrian recreational facility

Abstract

" Materials are the flesh, bones, and skin of architecture" (Antoniades, 230). It is through their use and expression, and the spaces they form, that architecture becomes useful and meaningful; thus, the focus of this thesis. Although there are numerous and varied materials from which to choose in this day and age, masonry has been selected as the material of choice for this study. The vehicle for the expression of this thesis is an equestrian recreational facility located halfway between the cities of Midland and Odessa, Texas.
