We will study imaging periodic photonic crystals using Fourier Phytocographic Microscopy (FPM) and Dual Space Microscopy (DSM) using a Hemispherical Digital Condenser (HDC). We intend to show that both techniques have the capability to image photonic crystals below Rayleigh resolution limit. Simulations of both phase recovery techniques proved that we can images photonic crystals with a period upto ~(𝑁𝐴𝑜+𝑁𝐴𝑐) which is below the classical limit. Here 𝜆 is the wavelength of light, 𝑁𝐴𝑜 is the numerical aperture of the objective lens and 𝑁𝐴𝑐 is the numerical aperture of the condenser. However, it was found that experimentally FPM fails to recover periodic structures below Rayleigh resolution limit whereas DSM still succeeds. Failure in FPM can be attributed unwanted reflections in the HDC.en_US
