Abstract

Description

This report is designed to assist data users in determining geographic patterns and relationships within Lubbock County for the Black population on various Census topics. It should be noted that when SAMPLE DATA is included on the tract map this indicates that the data is based upon a sample rather than a 100% count and as such is subject to sampling error. In Lubbock County overall, 13.2% of the households were sampled. The sum of the individual tracts will not equal the City of Lubbock Totals on the City maps. This is because there are several partial tracts within the City of Lubbock. The greatest controversy about the 1990 Census of Population and Housing was the degree of undercount. In Lubbock County the U. S. Census Bureau estimate of undercount was 2.0%. Based upon national trends this means that there was about a 3.7% undercount for the Black Population.
