Abstract

Legislative survey that focuses on the 77th Texas Legislature and the laws that were passed. The focus is on legislation that will have implications for practitioners before a specific agency and on changes in laws relating to open government. Discusses individual enactments drawn from official bill analyses prepared by the Office of House Bill Analysis and the Senate Research Center. Covers changes to the following areas of law: Civil Practice and Remedies Code, Consumer Credit Commission, open government, rules and rulemaking, employee retirement system, environmental, housing and community affairs, insurance, General Services Commission, occupations, parks and wildlife, Texas Railroad Commission, Texas Health and Human Services Commission, telecommunications, and worker’s compensation.
